During your first consultation your details and history will be taken. With your consent a digital camera may be used to record the condition of your feet before, during and after treatment.
At the start of the consultation the current health of your feet will be assessed. This assessment covers several aspects:
Neurological assessment considers reflexes and sense of touch of your feet.
Vascular assessment considers the blood supply to your feet and examines indicators such as colour, temperature and pulse.
The skin and nail condition is examined for the presence of infections and other problems such as nail deformities, corns and calluses.
The foot function assessment considers aspects such as suppleness and range of motion within the joints, stance and gait.
After considering your comments and following the completion of the assessment, the diagnosis will be made.
The treatment will be explained and agreed between both parties. Advice will be given to improve foot health and prevent other problems.
The treatment will be monitored and re-assessed as required.
